Amazing pictures: Border collies go nuts pursuing frisbees
IF you think border collies are impressive rounding up sheep, then look at how they pursue frisbees.
These dogs had no trouble leaping 6ft into the air to show off their agility.
One even manages to catch a spinning disc with a front paw before placing it in its mouth.
And another looks like it is slamming on the brakes in mid-air as a frisbee zooms beneath him.
Photographer Claudio Piccoli, 44, of Piverone, Italy, was 65ft away from the dogs when he took the pictures at a competition to demonstrate their skills.
He said: “I really like the photo of the dog using his paw. I love his initiative to get the disc under control and bring it to his mouth for the perfect catch.
“Each dog has a different style for the run and jump.
“Some collies jump more than 6ft high using their legs to generate a lot of power.
“At times it seemed the dog had lost the disc but in a magical second the dog will catch it. I don’t know how they succeed but they are real athletes.”
